Tarena Sisk, CNM

staff placeholder female

I grew up in Pittsburg, KS and attended nursing school in my home town at Pittsburg State University, graduating in 2000. I quickly found my passion in Labor and Delivery. I worked briefly in California and returned to Abilene, TX due to love of the midwest. After ten years working in high risk Labor and Delivery in Abilene, I returned to school to further my education and become a Certified Nurse Midwife. Attending Frontier School of Nurse Midwifery and Family Nursing, I received my masterโ€™s degree in midwifery in 2011.

After finishing my degree I moved to Winfield, KS and helped grow a single OB/GYN practice as a full practice Certified Nurse Midwife treating women from puberty though menopause including birth at the local hospital. Since that time I have attended over 1400 vaginal births and assisted my collaborating OB/GYN with many cesarean sections and GYN surgeries. My midwife partner and I opened and managed a free standing birth centre for three years in Winfield, where we expanded womenโ€™s birth options in our area.

Due to a desire to join a larger midwifery practice, I am happy to join the Craig Ranch midwifery team. I have three beautiful daughters, two in college and one starting the third grade. Being a mother and midwife doesnโ€™t leave much time for hobbies, but I enjoy the outdoors including camping and canoeing. I am excited to relocate and assist the women of this area with their health care needs from puberty though menopause and beyond.
