Emily grew up all over Texas, but has lived in Collin County since graduating from nursing school in Lubbock in 2001. She received both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and her Master of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. She became a nurse-midwife in 2017.
Emily’s previous role as a bedside nurse spanned 17 years, including 5 in newborn nursey/neonatal ICU, and most recently 12 years in a busy labor and delivery. Her goal as a nurse-midwife is to empower patients through care received across the span of womanhood. She especially respects the vulnerability of transitioning into motherhood. Emily hopes to positively impact the woman’s new maternal role. She is passionate about breastfeeding and has completed additional training and education in human lactation. In addition, she has a special interest in marginalized populations including LGBTQIA individuals.
In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time with her family, caring for her pets, providing habitat for birds and butterflies on her property, camping, hiking, cycling, and crocheting.
